Faculty members of Japanese Department attend “2017 Itinerant Training of Japanese Teachers”

 

 

November 18, “2017 Itinerant Training of Japanese Teachers” was held in the East Yangtse Ford campus of Yangzhou University. A team of 5 Japanese teachers headed by Dr. Liu Shoujun of the Japanese Department, the School of Foreign Languages attended the training.

In the short training that lasted for just one day, the senior expert Mr. Wang Chongliang at Beijing Japanese Culture Research Center under the Japan Foundation delivered the lecture titled “The “Can-do” theory underlying the Criteria for Japanese Education and curriculum design”. The lecture that focused on “how to teach”, “how to learn”, and “Assessment of learning results” elaborated on how to do a curriculum design by applying the “Can-do” theory and how to cultivate students’ “abilities to accomplish tasks” and students’ “intercultural comprehensive abilities”. Mr. Urai Chishi gave trainees a lecture titled “Teaching methods for reading lessons”, in which he expounded the methods for reading lesson design and class control through analyzing the model of a reading process. The trainee teachers participated in the heated discussion on the lectures in association with their practical teaching experiences.

The 5 Japanese teachers attending the training discussed with the two specialists of Beijing Japanese Culture Research Center on some knotty problems they had found in their teaching routine and exchanged ideas with key teachers from the Japanese Department, the School of Foreign Languages, Yangzhou University. Dr. Liu Shoujun and Japanese Dean Sun Yang held talks on the development of the Japanese majors of Jiangsu University and Yangzhou University and the future cooperation between them against the backdrop of “Integration of Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Yangzhou”.

As one of the Japanese teacher training programs offered by Beijing Japanese Culture Research Center under the Japan Foundation, the “Itinerant Training of Japanese Teachers” is aimed at enhancing the level of Japanese education in China and providing support to the Japanese education in China through offering training programs for college Japanese teachers.
