On December 17, the School of Foreign Languages held the Second Session of the Sixth Conference of Faculty Delegation & Trade Union Members in Room 3202 of the Jingjiang Building. The Conference heard and reviewed the Annual Work Report of the School of Foreign Languages and the Work Report of the SFL Branch Trade Union. All the faculty and staff of the School attended the meeting. SFL Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Deputy Dean Wang Lei presided over the meeting.
The conference commenced with the solemn national anthem. Dean Li Chongyue delivered the Annual Work Report to the whole faculty, focusing on the Party construction, administrative operation, education and teaching, discipline construction, and student work of the School of Foreign Languages. He comprehensively summarized the main achievements of the School in 2021. He called on all the faculty and staff of the School to actively respond to changes, take the initiative to change, carefully study the characteristics of the discipline of the Foreign Languages and Literatures, actively innovate ideas, and each contribute to the development of the cause of the School of the Foreign Languages.
Zhao Haihong, Chairman of the SFL Branch Trade Union, delivered the Work Report and the Financial Report of the Union. He summed up the feature activities conducted by the Union and the achievements that have been made in safeguarding the rights and interests of the faculty and staff, organizing and carrying out cultural and sports activities, and caring for the faculty and staff of the School in the past year.
In his concluding speech, Xie Zhifang, Secretary of the School Party Committee, fully affirmed the achievements of the School in the various tasks of the the past year with the joint efforts of all the faculty and staff. He hoped that the whole School will shoulder the important tasks entrusted by the times, always maintain full work enthusiasm, join hands to conduct pioneering and innovative exploration, and make new and greater contributions to the new era.
The Conference concluded with the collective singing of "Unity is Power".
