On the morning of August 31, the first “Seminar on the Department (Center) Teaching Administration” for the autumn semester of 2017 was held in the School Office of the SFL. All deans or directors of the departments (centers) in charge of the teaching work of the School attended the seminar presided over by Associate Professor Wu Peng, dean assistant of the School.
At the meeting Wu Peng first summed up the teaching work of the spring semester of 2017 of the School, analyzed the problems and deficiency in the teaching work of the past semester, commended the outstanding collective units and individual persons of the School, and fixed the teaching tasks and highlights to be assumed by each department (center) that has been newly reorganized. Then Wu detailed the main tasks for each department (center) of the new semester, giving particular instructions on the refinement and precision management of teaching work, the construction of professional course teaching group, the construction of key featured courses, the human-based management of teaching work, etc. Based on Wu’s speeches, the deans or directors of departments (centers) went into further discussions on how to solve the problems occurring in allotting teaching tasks, promoting the course construction and strengthening the process management of teaching. Deans and directors put forward valuable and constructive suggestions on related policies on teaching administration.
At the end of the meeting, Wu Peng extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the School Administration to each dean or director for the painstaking work they have done in the previous semester. He also urged the grassroots leaders to seize the great opportunity offered by the University in constructing a featured top-notch international “double first-class” research university, working harder to fortify themselves and expand their vision to further promote the reform on college English teaching, the construction of branding/international teaching projects and the construction of the professional contents of a foreign language major.
