Founded in 2022, MTI Education Center is charged with the task of cultivating high-level, application-oriented, and professional English-Chinese translation talents. The graduates are expected to meet the needs required of the modernization of China's intelligent manufacturing and agricultural equipment, as well as the intelligent manufacturing and agricultural equipment exchanges between China and other countries, particularly those along the Belt and Road. They will gain an all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education, strong English-Chinese language skills, extensive knowledge of intelligent manufacturing and agricultural equipment and business, high intercultural communication skills, and a good command of translation theory and practice. It is hoped that they will be able to engage in English-Chinese translation and related work in China's social, economic, and scientific fields, particularly in intelligent manufacturing, agricultural equipment manufacturing, and trade.

MTI Education Center boasts a powerful team of translators and researchers in translation theory. We take on faculty members with plentiful and extensive translation experience and research achievements. In recent years, the faculty members of the Center have published more than 30 monographs and translations and more than 100 academic papers in celebrated periodicals like Chinese Translators Journal, Literary Review, Jiangsu Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Guangming Daily (Theory Edition), Journal of Xi’an International Studies University, Journal of Sichuan Foreign Language Institute, Chinese Culture Research, Chinese Social Sciences Today, Babel, Translation Quarterly, and Translation & Interpreting. Our faculty members have headed and completed one key project of the National Social Science Fund of China, three general projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, four humanities and social science projects of the Chinese Ministry of Education, and a number of projects at the provincial and the municipal and department level. We have also won many an excellent achievement at the municipal and departmental levels or above. In recent years, we have increasingly provided language services for agricultural equipment research at Jiangsu University and the equipment manufacturing enterprises in Jiangsu province, linking the translation practice more closely with the economic construction and the development of intelligent disciplines.

So far, nearly 150 MA candidates have been graduated majoring in the translation studies of the postgraduate program offered by the School of Foreign Languages that houses the MTI Translation Center, attaining a graduation percentage of 100%. These graduates have been employed by foreign affairs departments of the government, college and universities, Chinese and foreign enterprises, key secondary schools, etc. Some of them pursue further studies in Ph.D programs. The degree program of ours adheres to cultivating students with moral character and gives full consideration to the nurturing function of supervisors in the cultivation process. One of the MA supervisors devoted to translation studies has been awarded the title of “Top Ten Most Popular Teachers of Jiangsu University.” Five supervisors have been awarded the title of “Outstanding Graduate Teachers of Jiangsu University” or the title of “Outstanding Teachers of Jiangsu University”, thus achieving the organic integration of ideological and political education into professional education.
